I'm still into the Red Sox, even though I haven't lived there for 6 years now. I would rather see Oakland win the pennant, except that I'd rather see the Red Sox win the World Series, I guess. (On the other hand, I'm so blase about Oakland these days that I didn't even go to the playoffs last year; I've seen enough ALDS games, I'm waiting for them to actually reach the ALCS.) Also, Theo Epstein is the sort of GM that I approve of. (Then again, so is Brian Cashman.) I don't have anything against Rivera, though.

I was into Minnesota a few years ago, out of a combination of liking underdogs and wanting Bud Selig to be shown up as a liar. They've kind of gone stale on me now, though, because they haven't managed to turn a good young team into sustained excellence. Hmm, or maybe they have - they have a better record than Oakland right now. And they do manage to keep on competing year after year. Still, I'll be more than happy for Cleveland to start another string of AL Central wins next year.

Zeek is a very interesting magazine, loosely centered on progressive Judaism, run by my friend Jay Michaelson. And, to the extent that the web site is "designed", I designed it; I whiled away a fun day looking at the HTML sources for other pages that resembled what I wanted, and cobbling together from these the code for the site.

As for the Red Sox - Yankees series; I'm finding that, now that the Orioles are a fun-to-follow losing team instead of the dispiriting-to-follow losing team they've been for the last few years, I care much less about whether the Red Sox or the Yankees win the AL East. With Nomar gone, I'd probably like to see Minnesota or Oakland win the pennant over either of those teams.

That said, I alwayslike seeing Rivera lose. Did you catch the game a couple of weeks ago where the Orioles scored 4 against Rivera in the 9th and he had to be relieved?
