		<description>Xerces-C++ is the other one we&#039;re currently considering.  It has a lot more functionality, for better or for worse; it&#039;s not clear yet what the costs and benefits are of having that functionality present.

Expat seems to only be able to parse XML, not to write it, unless I&#039;m missing something.  Also, it&#039;s stream-oriented, and I suspect a non-stream-oriented parser will be easier for us to deal with for this project.  (The input seems to be very short and straightforward.)</description>
