If Madoka is terrified by <em>Totoro</em>, though, then she might be terrified by that, too. Hard to say - having an extremely sick mother or being lost are pretty different fears from being attacked by a dog or being flooded, and the more cartoony nature of <em>Panda Go Panda</em> might make it less scary. Or might not. (I like <em>Kiki</em> more than either of them, and maybe in some ways I find <em>Totoro</em> more satisfying than <em>Panda Go Panda</em>; it depends on what I'm in the mood for. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching <em>Totoro</em>, it just happens not to be my favorite Ghibli movie.) It's more atmospheric, and it's atmosphere most essentially from Mei's point of view. I can imagine that's not what everyone's into.
