Yeah, definitely don't start in the middle: the first three games make a nice story arc, and the first one does the best job of introducing you to the gameplay. At least I think it does: I know the introductory missions in the third game are a lot harder than in the first game, and while I think the second game had a more gentler learning curve, there's no active reason to start with the second one.

I have been interesting in trying out any of the PHeonix Wright games, the whole aspect of visual-novel + gameplay sounds like a refreshing change of pace then the rest of the games that are more commonly released. I'm torn between getting Hotel Dusk, and/or the first Pheonix Wright, I don't think starting in the middle of a series is a good idea. I most likely think I'll go with Pheonix Wright, most 3D games on the DS tend to make me cringe, and the drawing style for Pheonix Wright tends to be more appealing to me. I was wondering how inexplicably I enjoy old 16-bit 2D graphics more then I enjoy 3D graphics.

Some non-traditional games appeal to me, yet I don't have many of them, and I feel it would be good to add some to my collection. Thanks for doing reviews, I enjoy browsing such.
