The combined obtuseness of KitchenAid and A&E Factory Service (with a tip of the hat to Western Appliance) has defeated me: rather than getting our broken garbage disposal replaced under warranty, we’ll just call a plumber to take it out and put in a pipe. On a more positive note, we have a new car now, and our experience with Toyota Sunnyvale was, in general, quite pleasant. I don’t know what their regular salesmen are like (though 5 years ago they were normal annoying car salesmen), but the internet sales person we dealt with was pleasant and straightforward.
