Thanks for the info. For the buttons, it's not so much the loudness (though that is annoying) but the size, I think: they're long, which makes it harder to hit them on the center, but if I don't do that they don't always register well. Also, they're just harder to press. Anyways, I'll be happy to give an RB2 guitar a try if I find one...

As for drums: I actually haven't tried them at all, so I won't be doing Expert any time soon, unless I have more natural talent than I suspect is the case. Hopefully it won't take too long to work my way up, though...

You know, I don't think I've ever played Green Grass on Expert -- since starting at Harmonix I've been exclusively on RB2, and I wasn't ever good enough at RB1 to do it before then. I did pass it on Hard in one try, for whatever that's worth. I'll fire it up tomorrow and let you know how I do. (As for others at the company: most of them can do everything, no exaggeration. I am in the presence of masters!)

Re instruments: I suppose there's something to be said for familiarity -- I very well could have hit a hundred hours in the past month -- but I honestly don't mind using the RB guitar. I'm not a particular fan of the strum bar, and the buttons are a bit loud, but I've never felt like it was adversely affecting my playing. The RB2 guitar remedies both of those problems, so I'm happy. It's worth a try if you can find one to fool around with.

Good luck with Expert drums. I don't know if you read Mitch's piece, but it'll be an ordeal at first. Don't get discouraged; once your brain works out how to hit those syncopated kick pedal patterns and your hands get used to doing rolls, you'll suddenly be able to tackle a good chunk of the songs.

And once you can do that? Well, I saw one of my coworkers score in the mid-90s on Panic Attack, so you'll have something else to aspire to. :-)
