It is definitely time for me to buy a new iPod: when driving to the airport, it took me five tries to reset the old one after it locked up, because I couldn’t get the buttons to engage. Given the frequency with which my old one locks up, that will become untenable almost immediately.
Which means that a 16GB iPod Touch is in my near future. So: anybody with an iPhone or a Touch that has a Twitter client that they like? Or, for that matter, one that they dislike? In either case, why?

I think Tweetie (pay) is still the nicest for multiple Twitter accounts and general ease of reading. Nambu (free) is rad for its official tr.im and pic.im integration as well as the Ping.fm support, but it’s still a little rough around the edges in some ways. Pingle (pay) is a great client for Ping.fm users, but not quite as nice for reading Twitter as Tweetie. Those are the three I’m messing with. Twitteriffic (pay or lite version) is good, but gets clobbered by a smaller feature set and no significant advantage over others.
Tweetie keeps its edge largely due to solid error reporting and the fact that it doesn’t junk your tweets if they fail to send for some reason. But I love updating all my networks at once, so Nambu has been making a strong play for my time. Nambu’s desktop client is also very much worth checking out.

I use TwitterFon and it’s fantastic. Even better than the website in some ways.

I see many people gushing over TwitterFon, but in my opinion Natsulion does everything TF does and more. “Autopagerize” (scroll down and it loads more tweets seamlessly) is a killer feature.

Twinkle does just fine for me, but I’m far from a Twitter power user. I hear lots of good things about Tweetie but haven’t felt the need to switch yet.

A note to myself: some web browsing turned up Tweetsville as another good candidate, so I should give it a try at some point. (Paid, $3.99)
